Soft Skills Training for Teams That Want to Work Better Together
Facilitated workshops that build trust, communication, and stronger workplace relationships — in Vancouver and virtually.
Technical skills get people hired. Soft skills determine whether teams thrive.
At KindCo, we design and facilitate soft skills training experiences that help people communicate more openly, build genuine trust, and show up more fully for one another at work. When people feel psychologically safe, connected, and understood, they do their best work — and so does the whole organization.
What Are Soft Skills and Why Do They Matter at Work?
Soft skills are the interpersonal and emotional capabilities that shape how people work together. They include things like communication, empathy, active listening, accountability, conflict resolution, and the ability to build trust.
Unlike technical skills, soft skills are relational. They govern how people give feedback, navigate disagreement, support each other through change, and collaborate under pressure.
Research consistently shows that teams with strong interpersonal skills outperform those without — not because they're conflict-free, but because they know how to work through challenges together.
According to LinkedIn's Global Talent Trends report, 92% of talent professionals say soft skills matter as much as or more than technical skills. Yet most organizations don't invest in developing them deliberately.
That's where KindCo comes in.
Soft skills and human skills training, designed for real workplaces
Our workshops are interactive, facilitated experiences — not lectures. We work with teams in Vancouver and across Canada (in-person and virtually) to develop the specific interpersonal skills that make teams more connected, more communicative, and more resilient.
Trust-Building Workshop
The foundation of every strong team. We help groups develop a shared language for trust, repair breakdowns, and create lasting agreements about how they'll work together — so people can communicate openly, collaborate with confidence, and hold each other accountable in a way that actually feels good.
Available in-person and virtually | Half-day or full-day | CPD eligible
The trust workshop had a great pace and covered a wide range of topics. Nikki is an engaging speaker, and I especially appreciated the marble jar analogy and how it tied into the four distinctions of trust. It gave me a memorable way to bring the concepts into conversations with colleagues.

Mattering Workshop
People don't leave jobs. They leave places where they no longer feel like they matter.
This interactive workshop explores mattering as a core workplace experience — and how it's built (or broken) through three everyday practices: belonging, recognition, and appreciation. Participants leave with a personal action plan to strengthen how colleagues and clients feel seen, heard, and valued.
Available in-person and virtually | 3 hours | CPD eligible
The workplace has changed. Soft skills are now the competitive edge.
Hybrid work, rapid change, and rising burnout have made interpersonal skills more important — and harder to develop organically. Teams that once learned how to work together through daily in-person contact now need intentional spaces to build those same skills.
Organizations that invest in soft skills training see:
Higher employee retention and satisfaction
Stronger collaboration across teams and departments
Fewer communication breakdowns and conflict escalations
Greater psychological safety and belonging
Better performance outcomes from managers and leaders
Soft skills aren't "soft." They're the hardest skills to build — and the ones that have the greatest impact on how people experience work every day.
Soft skills training for leaders, managers, and teams
Our workshops are built for organizations ready to invest in the relational health of their teams. We work with:
Leadership teams navigating change, growth, or shifting team dynamics
Managers who want to lead with more empathy, clarity, and confidence
HR leaders and People teams building stronger culture and reducing turnover
Cross-functional teams working in hybrid or remote settings
Newly formed teams establishing how they want to work together from day one
Whether your team is high-performing and wants to stay that way, or you're working through friction and want a reset — we'll meet you where you are.

Frequently asked questions about soft skills training
-
Hard skills are technical, job-specific abilities — like coding, financial analysis, or project management. Soft skills are interpersonal and relational: how you communicate, collaborate, give feedback, build trust, and manage conflict. Both matter, but soft skills are increasingly what separates good teams from great ones.
-
Our workshops focus on the interpersonal skills that most directly affect team performance: trust-building, communication, active listening, empathy, psychological safety, accountability, and giving and receiving feedback. We tailor every workshop to your team's specific needs and goals.
-
Psychological safety is the shared belief that it's safe to speak up, share ideas, and make mistakes without fear of judgment or punishment. It's one of the strongest predictors of team performance, and it's built through trust and consistent interpersonal behaviours. Yes — psychological safety is central to our trust-building workshop.
-
Yes. We offer in-person workshops in Vancouver and across Canada, as well as virtual sessions on Zoom for remote and hybrid teams. Both formats are highly interactive and designed to create real engagement, not just passive listening.
-
Our workshops range from a 1-hour keynote or webinar introduction to a half-day (4 hours) or full-day (7+ hours) immersive experience. We also offer multi-session series for teams who want to build skills over time. We'll work with you to find the right format.
-
Many do. Let us know which governing body you report to and we can work with you to document the learning outcomes. Our trust and communication workshops develop skills that are applicable across a wide range of professional roles and CPD requirements.
-
Team-building activities are fun and have their place — but they rarely change how people actually work together. Our workshops are facilitated learning experiences with real frameworks, reflection, and practice. Participants leave with tools they can use immediately, not just a good memory.
