Remote Team Corporate Retreat

The Event: Local energy company Kambo Energy Inc. was planning its annual corporate retreat for the teams located across the lower mainland, the Kootaney’s, Edmonton and Seattle.

The Format:

The three-day, Wednesday-Friday corporate retreat needed and needed to be set in a location that all employees could get to within a reasonable travel time. In order to make sure all team members felt like they were getting a fun getaway, KindCo recommended the corporate retreat be held in Victoria, BC. With the majority of the team working from the lower mainland, KindCo helped plot out transportation for Vancouver locals on BC Ferries, as well as the flight details for employees working from other cities.

A key part of the weekend’s success was picking a hotel that matched the energy of the team. KindCo recommended Hotel Zed as it stood out from the typical hotels with corporate boardrooms. Their boardroom table is a ping-pong table, after all. With its bright and eclectic style, this playful hotel set the tone for the entire weekend.

The itinerary was created so all employees arrived in time for an afternoon together. The first day included a team-builder, a group dinner with drinks followed by Haunted Mini Golf, giving employees a chance to get to know each other better. The second day was packed with fun, starting with a team breakfast, followed by a day at the lake for swimming, bocce, BBQ and relaxing. We arranged for a party bus to pick up the team from Hotel Zed to take them to a local lake, ensuring maximized team-building time throughout the day. The second team dinner was another chance to strengthen relationships. The final morning was used to get team alignment on corporate objectives and to work together on a corporate initiative. The employees then travelled back that day in time to enjoy the weekend.
